Industry History & Trends

This article aims to give you a quick understanding of the indoor playground industry and our factory. We hope it answers your questions and helps you make informed business decisions.

People around the world differ in many ways. But as a manufacturer in China, we want to provide high-quality fun and happy childhoods for all children. We may not be the biggest factory, but we are committed to making every client satisfied through good service, clear communication, and high-quality products. We want to help you get a fast return on your investment, open more stores, and bring joy to more children.

Industry Overview:

Today’s indoor playgrounds include a wide range of products. Main types include play structures, trampoline parks, adventure parks, and arcades/FEC (Family Entertainment Centers).

Many materials are used, like soft padding, wood, steel frames, plastics (LLDPE, HDPE), acrylic, LED lights, nylon, stainless steel, PVC, EVA, EPE, etc.
There are also many game types: tube maze frames, slides, trampolines, interactive projection games, arcades, electronic games, role-play areas, sensory play for toddlers, kid expansion courses, educational games, climbing walls, blocks, thrill activities, and more.
Many clients also need commercial equipment like tables/chairs, reception counters, bar counters, bar stools, lockers, shoe racks, socks, dessert equipment, POS systems, etc.

There are over an estimated 1 million different items in total. So, even the largest factories cannot produce every single item, especially for large designs (over 1000 sqm).
Many clients are new to importing from China. They need various products but lack experience. So, it’s natural for us to offer these different related products and equipment.

The picture on the left illustrates the development history of our company, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and pivotal moments that have shaped our growth over the years. Future Trends:

  • Integration: Playgrounds, adventure parks, trampoline parks, and arcades will merge into “all-in-one family indoor entertainment centers.” This meets the needs of the whole family and solves issues like limited appeal of single attractions and high prices. This model allows for innovative revenue streams and shares costs (shipping, rent, staff, installation).
  • Venue Size: As cities develop, more clients will be in shopping malls. Venues will mainly be around 1000 sqm and get larger. Very small venues (<200 sqm) will have smaller profits and fewer orders. Medium-sized venues will struggle to compete on price and attraction mix.
  • Keys to Success: Being a “one-stop solution provider” is key. This industry favors the first mover. Newer venues often struggle to compete on price and attractions, making them risky. Fast ROI, attractive products, competitive pricing, and short payback periods are crucial for clients.
  • Choosing a Supplier: Many clients choose between the lowest price or highest quality. But smart clients find the middle ground – medium-sized factories offering reliable quality at reasonable prices (following the 80/20 rule and diminishing returns). The cheapest option often carries the highest risk, as the supplier may not be focused on long-term partnership.

We wish all our clients great success and the joy of building their business empire surrounded by children’s laughter!
